Goldfinch Social was founded by The Neighborhood Restaurant Group (NRG), a collective of restaurants and hospitality concepts rooted in creativity, community, and a shared spirit of conviviality.

 

Since 1997, NRG has grown from its humble beginnings at the Evening Star Café in Alexandria’s Del Ray neighborhood into a family of seventeen restaurants, two breweries, a wine shop, a bakery and coffee shop, a butchery, a food hall, and more. Along the way, they’ve built a reputation not just for exceptional food and drink, but for creating unique gathering places that reflect and enrich the communities they serve. With over 1,000 team members and an ongoing commitment to charitable organizations such as Share Our Strength, Capital Area Food Bank, and DC Central Kitchen, NRG has always been about more than restaurants — it’s about people, purpose, and connection.
